    • I called NSO helpline and was told the possible reason you were referred to City Hall of Manila is that the record of your grandchild’s birth may not yet have been forwarded to NSO. What your daughter/son can do is ask City Hall if the record of birth has been forwarded to NSO and when a copy of the birth certificate can be obtained from NSO. Good luck. Hope this helps.

    • You can go to the Civil Registrar in Manila City Hall or to NSO in East Avenue. I’m not sure how much it costs now, possibly less than P200. You may also request for a copy to be delivered to you through Teleserv. Doing that means you have to deposit the payment in Metrobank and pay double, I think. Please call Teleserv 7371111 for the rates and instructions.

    • Hello Annabelle. Sadly I doubt if correcting your birth certificate will be quick and easy. Back in the seventies or earlier it might have been as easy as retyping or rewriting it. Not so anymore. Please check out the website of the Manila city civil registrar to find out what you should do.
