GCs no longer have expiration dates

Yes, that’s for real. Back in Christmas 2012, husband received a few gift certificates. I tried to use them in 2013 but failed where Pizza Hut, Starbucks and Dairy Queen were concerned.

Yesterday, as I was planning to have just pizza and pasta for dinner and husband was going to have the car washed, I decided to commission him to get pizza and blizzard using the GCs. I didn’t want HHB to  do so lest she be humiliated/embarrassed if the stores decided to give her a hard time, though I was aware of a law decreeing that GCs shouldn’t have expiration dates. True the GCs only had dates of issue indicated but one could not be sure, or as PNOy put it, “The proof is in the pudding” (a short cut I guess for the proof of the pudding is in the eating).

Well, husband succeeded in getting a pizza and 3 blizzards. From Pizza Hut he should have gotten change of P20 but of course that wasn’t forthcoming. ONly big stores like Rustan’s allow you to use GCs with running balances. In DQ he paid P7 extra.

Pizza Hut is PH so what can one say? But DQ remains amazing. Their ice cream while not too creamy is just right; it’s not nakakaumay – no diminishing marginal utility there. To the last spoonful it was so good. Flavor husband got was Rocky Road.

I want to have another DQ fix soon.

Note: I’m sure you’ve seen the server in DQ present your order upside down. Don’t do this yourself. A relative did and the result was decidedly messy.
