Ultimate Turtle Brownies

from bettycrocker.com

I have long had this recipe and constantly saw it whenever I’d open Google Chrome. But I largely ignored it though I did buy a Duncan Hines box of brownie mix after not finding Betty Crocker.  I had also bought a pack of Kraft caramels that languished with the other chocolates and cookies in a plastic box. Today I decided to make the turtle brownies. And I was happy I did. The recipe:

In lieu of pecans which I don’t have on hand (too expensive), I used walnuts. And in lieu of semi sweet chocolate chunks, I used Toblerone that expired sometime in 2013. I tried it out first, of course.

The result was good and we had it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (sugar free or No sugar added). And instead of 1 1/3 c of the chocolate chunks I used only 1 cup of Toblerone.
