Disconcerting, Disarming

Two vignettes:

a. We were eating in this resto in Makati, yes this post is all about blind items involving places, not people. I was facing this door:

Occasionally, okay, almost all the time, my eyes would inevitably see what was behind it: staff removing their shoes, staff putting on their shoes, staff brushing their hair, staff chatting. Okay, no problem about the last but the first three bordered on disgusting. I mean, you’re eating in a resto and you see these? I was taken aback. Would you have been?

b. Received a text message from a store in my favorite mall saying:

“Good day! This is from ****, we are giving a basket of ripe mangoes which can be picked up at our store located at the 2nd flr/mid level … Kindly text back or call us at … to confirm this message. Thank you and bet regards. :)”

I texted back to ask until when this offer stood. The reply:

“Mam asap po kc po hinog na.”

How sweet, right?

If only I could go out so easily.
