Roommate Season 2, Discovery of Romance and The Secret Hotel

I was ready to abandon this reality show after I learned that majority of the cast would be replaced. Of course, that Lee Dong Wook is still around was one compelling reason for me to watch the first episode of Season 2 to check if the series would still be worth watching.

Was I relieved. From the old cast, still around are Nana, Se Ho and the flower boys, aside, of course from Lee Dong Wook and the beagle:

The person on the first row is funny, I don’t know their names yet. He’s older than the rest, I think, but is really funny.

The lady beside him is a drama actress. She gives the impression that she’s stern although she’s always smiling. Perhaps it’s because she’s older.

The young man beside her is Jackson. He’s cute. He didn’t like the room he was assigned to and refused to unpack his luggage, hoping he could change places with someone. He’s also a bit scared of Nana from the first batch who’s really pretty. Jackson is from HK. He can speak English, Korean and Chinese.

The lady in aqua is a comedienne. She loves to eat and brought a griller. Beside her is Sunny(?) who belongs to a girl band.

Guy on the last row is Japanese. And the lady beside him, who’s the youngest of the group, is described as having a funny laugh. In fact it was said when she laughs, her uvula can be seen.

Discovery of Romance and Secret Hotel have some commonalities. In Discovery of Romance, the lead couple were formerly sweethearts (the word sounds so dated) who meet a few years later. In Secret Hotel, the lead couple were formerly married and meet up after a few years. I like both series because although murders are committed in SH, they are not the focus of the story. Discovery of Romance is a reteam-up of  Eric and the pretty lady who also starred in Que Sera Sera as a couple.

Here’s Eric:

The Secret Hotel has its charm but one of the male leads hardly speaks… Maybe, if Inday Badiday were still around and she has him as guest in her show, she’d ask him, “Are you with us tonight?” Though maybe, that’s how his character is in the series?
