Had this for dinner tonight and son and husband were happy. Got the recipe from this site.
It was the first time I tried the said dish and it’s quite interesting. It’s a mixture of east and west in that it has ketchup, hoisin sauce, bacon, Chinese chorizo, among other ingredients. It is very saucy so don’t make the mistake of serving it with kare-kare the way I did tonight. The kare-kare was leftover of my lunch from Wooden Spoon.
At WS I also ordered salted egg with peanuts and specified not to put kinchay and ginger. Hooray. They complied.
Flash news for Katipuneros: there’s a new Korean resto in Loyola Heights Condominum where Lu Yong used to be. Son just called to inform me. He was driving past (I hope not fast) and saw it. I guess he’s relieved I will not now request him to buy K stuff from Wang Mart in Makati. Just kidding. I found his gesture thoughtful. I have to be clear on that. I rib him enough.
