An Update to What Apology? And then some

On Thursday, 26 Feb 2015, I posted What Apology.  On Friday 27 Feb 2015 I posted an update.

That afternoon, at around 5:30, Liza H texted me and asked if it was okay to call. I said I was on my way to a wake. She asked when the best time would be for her to call and I said Tuesday a.m.

She did call minutes ago and explained the following:

a. on 6 Jan Mr Detoyato drafted a letter for sending to me. This was the same day they had sent me a PM in FB asking for my phone number and email:

The said letter was never sent. I asked Liza H  to read it out to me this morning and she did.

b. SO I brought up the matter of their telling DTI they had communicated with me when in fact they hadn’t. DTI had told the consumer line of Philippine Daily Inquirer about DFP’s claim that they had apologized to me already and this occurrence was mentioned in the Feb 18, 2014  post of the PDI column.

So why the discrepancy? Mr. Detoyato was unaware, according to Liza H, that the letter had never been sent; hence his saying he had written me.

Imagine if that letter were a different one, for example one staying the execution of the death sentence of someone in the death row. Just imagine if because such letter hadn’t been sent, the death sentence was carried out, etc. Just imagine.

So there.

I am not unreasonable as not to accept an apology. In fact, I said yes when Liza H said she would come over tomorrow to apologize in person.

But after I put down the phone, it occurred to me that she didn’t have to come over. SO I sent her a text message as follows:
The message in gray was her text message before she called. As you can see I wasn’t able to reply as I was using my land line and it would have been useless to do so at that point. She called after I had put down the phone but had yet to reply.

The green message bubbles are my replies to her after our conversation on the phone. She hasn’t replied as yet.

In a visit to Century Mall, I saw  Edith Hamilton’s Mythology book. If I remember correctly, the print was bigger than usual. I wanted to get it but son restrained me as he said I could download a version I could read using Kindle.

Alas and alack, I found none in Amazon. Reading mobi files can be challenging sometimes.

I must go back to Century Mall or look for the book again in Fully Booked.

TPS and C, do you recognize the picture? It is of an epic everyone takes up in high school. I think it is a good representative of Greek mythology, don’t you?
