My Ilonggo lunch

a saying goes “you can take someone out of the country but not the country out of that someone.” I know, I know. Those aren’t the exact words but you get the drift.

After reading blog posts in Facebook re restaurant and pasalubong musts in Bacolod, I suddenly remembered Bailon lumpia et al. and called to order. These:

Rather than lunch these are strictly speaking merienda items –  panara, empanada, inday inday, piaya and lumpia ubod. Inday inday is palitaw to the Tagalogs, siomai is dumplings to the Chinese.

Still and all, I declare them Ilonggo. Hahaha. Happy to be one, apparently.
