I have ambivalent feelings watching this.
It starts out with the Korean war as setting. Then it moves on to the 70s. The plot is okay (I’m in Episode 19 now) but there are so many scenes that could have been edited out … in fact I think this would make for a good movie, quite a good one if only.
Funny the episode I’m watching now has something uncanny. Look:
Notice anything? It’s driving me nuts.
If you notice, when there’s no dialogue…
Anyway, those two men, the male leads, make this worth watching.
The man on the left is the lead of MY Love Eun Dong which is an ongoing series that has some meanness in it but not in epic proportions.
Another series, My Love from Today, would have been better had there been fewer people with mean streaks. But I still watch it for want of anything better to watch. At least the sets aren’t Lino Brocka dark or sepia. I’m sure you get the drift.
That’s it for now. I’ll go back to reading “I should never have come to see you” frame by frame.
